I had the privilege to go backstage and to the VIP area at Ruby Skye to help photograph three acts from Trapeze World. The place was packed as usual, but what was more of a twist was the stage. Surrounding the DJ was a ring of TV screens, thus the performers were not over the stage but over the crowd and of course with no net or any padding to break their fall.Olga was on first with a net contraption, tumbling just in time to save herself from the floor on purpose of course. Second, Jamie soared through the air above with ease and last, Kate and Chloe put on a seductive hoop act that got everyone’s energy going. Here are a few pictures of the night.

I had the great privilege of seeing the dress rehearsal of Sweet Can Habitat at Dance Mission Theater. During the run through I couldn’t believe that 6 professional athletes, and I say athletes because of the insane body strength these people have, put this show together with only a few rehearsal hours a week for 3 months.
There is tight rope walking, juggling, aerial tissue, single trapeze, a german wheel, moving mail boxes, and a lot of “clowning around”.
I can’t tell you how many times my eyes were glued to the performers because of the element of speed, fluidity and balance required.
I don’t want to give it away but, if you are looking for something different than Nutcracker and want to take the kids, this is a perfect show for uplifting your spirits.
