Jessa Freeman

I have been an artist in the body sense of the word. I have danced since I was 5 years old in ballet and other forms of dance (modern, contemporary ballet, hip-hop, jazz, flamenco, character, and African.)

I graduated the University of Utah in 2005 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet, but really became inspired by the dance movement in San Francisco. I saved up money over the summer, packed two suitcases, and moved to San Francisco in October 2005. Not knowing a single friend or family member I learned how hard it was to start your dreams in an expensive city.

Like many artists I have starved for my art, worked multiple part-time jobs, and suffered injuries. So much time, energy, and money must be continuously poured into our dreams before we can see some return.

I want people to be aware of artists and artisans that are trying to make it in this big city. I want them to gain more exposure, confidence and community. Hence, the blog is born! If you would like to contact me or have questions my email is Jessa@SFGallery143.com Hope to hear from you!
